"Canada tops, but America can't see him. He just thinks there's a bear floating above him while he feels things in the butt." - [livejournal.com profile] hoyvinglavin64

Since HG's been getting after me to post that quote up there, I guess I might as well make an actual post. So, sorry for up and disappearing for a week like that. Finals pretty much took over my life, which I gather is a thing that happens to a lot of people, but it is still something I should apologize for. But anyway, they are over now. Turned in the last one, in true me fashion, three minutes before the 11:55 due date. :B

So I've been home for a couple days. Haven't done too much except go to club, see Yuki, and play Pokémon TCG. I've finally built (with some help, of course ♥) a deck that actually has a strategy behind it and that I can actually win with. :O The only problem is there's never anyone on Lackey who plays, so if any of you guys are into the Pokémon TCG, let me know! I need new battle partners. :B

Also, I realize this should be common sense, but if you have a Mac, do not get the trackpad wet. Seriously. I got mine wet the other day and it spazzed out at me intermittently for like an hour. And if you do happen to get it wet, the option to disable it is under System Preferences > Universal Access, not System Preferences > Trackpad. :|

Better finish up that song meme.

DAY 22: A song that someone has sung to you.

Sadly, none. :( Although one time [livejournal.com profile] cleris4ever read me an original composition which I believe was a poem, but may have been a song (I cannot remember, it was many years ago). It was quite sweet, whatever it was. ♥

DAY 23: A song that you cannot stand to listen to.

It killed me to even have type this into YouTube. Hate it, hate it, hate it.

DAY 24: A song that you have danced to with your best friend.

Now, I don't dance to a lot of songs, and I do not think most of my friends do either. But if you take all the songs I have danced to with any of my friends, I am pretty sure the one with the highest amount of friends would be this.

Then of course I had to dance to it again while watching the video. Man, 2007 was a good year.

DAY 25: A song you could listen to all day without getting tired.

If only this had a full version. :(

Also I know I used this one for "A song you love singing along to", but have it again anyway.

Well, we can all see how well that worked at getting me to post every day. So now I will start another one~! Yeah, yeah, I know, but hopefully without school I'll actually be able to keep up with it this time. Besides, I need to convince [livejournal.com profile] birdboy2000 to do it. So here everyone, have a Digimon meme! :D

Day 01: How old were you when you first discovered Digimon?

I distinctly remember watching the English premiere, which according to Wikipedia aired in August 1999. So I would have been 7. Sounds about right. God, why was that so long ago. ;___;

Things I remember from watching that episode:
- "My friends call me Motimon! Actually... everybody calls me Motimon."
- The hiding tree (did they ever even use those again in the series)
- Oh man the cute monsters are evolving into even bigger cute monsters holy [word I would have used instead of crap because I was 7] this show is going to be awesome!
AND IT WAS.

(List of days is here.)

Also, expect an AB con report to come... sometime. Whenever I can actually get myself to do anything. :(

STEALING THE SECOND MEME SO HARD. x3 ... though I'll likely have to double-up on days in order to make sure I finish it before I lose internet access for a while.

Agreed with 23. :|

[identity profile] vethica.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
I thought it was the sort of thing you might like. :D Also I am sorry you will be losing internet access. Hopefully you will find ways to survive without it. :(

I agree with your agreement. Worst song, seriously. Made even worse by how much of an earworm it is. GET OUT OF MY HEAD ;_;

[identity profile] fujicori.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sure I will; if nothing else, I have cosplay to work on. :3

And made worse still by it being everywhere for a few years. :||| Play rehearsal should not = Katy Perry karaoke night, seriously.

[identity profile] birdboy2000.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
The hiding tree did not appear again in the show. I wish they explained it.

I want a hiding tree. :(

[identity profile] vethica.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
I did not think it did. It's good to know that it stumps even the experts, though. :B

...oh lol stumps. No pun intended.

Why do you want one? It seems kind of impractical.

[identity profile] vethica.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
But you would have to go all the way outside.

[identity profile] birdboy2000.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
No I don't. They keep them in the digital world. :B

[identity profile] vethica.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 02:10 am (UTC)(link)
That is even worse! You will have to go all the way to the digital world, and then outside.

[identity profile] birdboy2000.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
Oh fine I will not hide in a hiding tree. :(

[identity profile] vethica.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 02:47 am (UTC)(link)
You can if you want to! I was not trying to dissuade you from it. Just trying to know your reasons.

[identity profile] theditz.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh god, I put the song on and realized I still know the entire Hare Hare Yukai Dance by heart. I DORK. Congratulations on being done with your finals! I still don't really get what they are, but I'm guessing they are some kind of examination?

[identity profile] vethica.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
It's okay, we can dork dance together! o/

Yeah, at the end of each semester, we usually have a final exam or essay in each class. Do you guys do anything like that?

[identity profile] theditz.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm... It differs. We usually have a bit bigger project in the subjects that use those or a bit bigger test for physics, chemistry, math... but we don't have a special name for it. It's usually just "that last month before graduation" when the tempo is a bit more hectic. It's like it is most of the year, just slightly more important because you might need to show that you really deserve that MVG or maybe want to bump your grade up a bit.

[identity profile] vethica.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh, that sounds preferable to making a big deal out of it like we do over here. So much stress, man.

[identity profile] theditz.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 09:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm stressed out as well to be honest, but it's over soon enough! I've got my white dress, my cap, the truck is all set, we've got the 90s music ready! I'm all set for my graduation now!

(In sweden it's tradition to get everyone on an big truck like this: Image and video hosting by TinyPic
and then drive around town blasting pop/rock music while showering everything around you with beer.)

[identity profile] vethica.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 09:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude that is SO COOL FFFFFF. Why don't we have traditions like that. ;_;

[identity profile] theditz.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Well obviously, you're just not cool enough!

I'm sure you have a lot of fun traditions that we don't have, don't worry ♥ But I do love swedish graduation, everything about it is so weird and HUGE. The graduation parties start in April, one for each class. IN THE ENTIRE STOCKHOLM AREA.
