I know I haven't been posting in forever. I'm sorry. It's like I don't even know what to say anymore. I haven't been doing much fandom stuff at all (except reading Shakespeare :B), so the only thing I can really talk about is my life. And my life right now is college. So you get to hear about college.
College is... okay. It is hard being away from home and I miss people pretty badly. I have made two friends, one of whom is my roommate, although there are some people I'm also getting better acquainted with, but who knows.
I am taking Japanese II, which I though I would be pretty okay at, and I've got a decent grasp on reading and writing. But I've gotten myself into this loop where I completely freak out when it comes to speaking. Which means I looked like an idiot during my oral presentation today. I couldn't even answer the simple questions people asked at the end. And then I broke down, of course. I don't know what I'm going to do if it turns out I'm bad at Japanese. This is honestly the only thing I'm good at. On the bright side, now I get what Kurt Cobain meant when he sang "I'm worst at what I do best." So... there's that. :\
My other classes are less depression-inducing. My favorite is the one about adaptations of Shakespeare for children. I love Shakespeare and I love things I'm way too old for, so this is basically the perfect class for me. :D During our last class we watched parts of a couple movie versions of Midsummer. My notes from that consist of a half-finished drawing of Helena and the words "DEMETRIUS IS A CLOSETED HOMOSEXUAL".Come on, he totally is. Also as an extra-credit project, we get to make our own Shakespeare adaptations. I am doing a Midsummer high school AU, and I'm actually really inspired. So this has gotten me writing. Like, consistently. Which is very rare and kind of cool for me. :)
Oh, also I read the next four books of Scott Pilgrim. They are very different from the movie. Very different. I really don't know which one I like better. The books have more fleshed-out characters and super adorable art style, but the movie has a more concise plot and a Scott who is not a total jerk. So I am maybe leaning toward the movie there. Still love the art style though. 5/6 BOOKS COMPLETED
Oh hey! Here is a meme I stole from
amael_elen. I don't normally do this kind of meme but what the heck. Fill it out shite kudasai? (YEAH I AM ACING JAPANESE II)
YOU'RE ON MY FRIENDS LIST!:
I want to know 28 things about you. I don't care if we've never talked, never really clicked, or if we already know everything about each other. I really don't. You are obviously on my flist, so let me know with whom I'm friends!

Hey this was a while ago but IT SEEMS LIKE A GOOD IDEA NOW
02. Mental age: Fluctuates rapidly!
03. Single or taken: Single.
04. Favorite book: Just one? Hamlet, maybe? Or The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoevsky? Or Small Gods by Terry Pratchett?
05. Favorite song or album: Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill.
06. What do you believe is your calling in life? Your greatest passion?: To help animals.
07. What's your worst recurring nightmare/biggest fear?: I really hate dreams about being chased, especially when there's nowhere much to run.
08. Faith, has you any? And if so, what, and if not, why not?: If by "faith" you mean religion, then no. It just doesn't make any sense, given everything I've learned.
09. Do we know each other outside of LJ? Do we want to?: No, and I dunno.
10. What's your philosophy on life?: Do what you can do, give what you can give, try to have a little empathy, and don't be afraid to break apart or throw awy things that don't work.
11. Is the bottle half-full or half-empty?: Depends how thirsty I am.
12. Would you tell me something painful if it was in my best interest?: Yeah.
13. What is your favorite memory of us?: Don't have one yet.
14. What is your favorite guilty pleasure?: Websites devoted to making fun of stupidity.
15. Tell me one odd/interesting fact about you: I'm a vegetarian.
16. You can have three wishes what are they?: 1. For Lappy to be happy. 2. For the energy and motivation to write out all the stories in my head. 3. For the ability to turn into a bird of any kind at will.
17. What is your favorite food?: Pasta!
18. Which country is your spiritual home?: Don't know that I've been to enough to say. Canada and Italy weren't bad. America isn't entirely bad either; I've been here longest, and some of my sensibilities quite distinctly reflect that.
19. What is your big weakness?: Guinea pigs.
20. Do you think I'm a good person?: Don't know you well enough to say, but obviously I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt.
21. What was your best/favorite subject at school?: High school? English. As far as I know, my AP Comp teacher is still telling stories about me.
22. Describe your accent: It's... not a Western accent, because when you hear that you think cowboys with drawls and that's not it, but it's what people in most Western states actually sound like, I guess?
23. If you could change anything about me, would you?: Don't know you well enough to say.
24. What do you wear to sleep?: In my dorm's loft bed. Or occasionally under it, for naps.
25. Gender identity?: Female.
26. Affectionate/sexual orientation?: I guess I generally prefer girls. Not big on sex.
27. If I only had one day to live, what would we do together? (If you have no idea, just say something crazy, it'll entertain me!): Wouldn't be spending it with you. Would be spending it with my family or Lappy.
28. Will you repost this so I can fill it out for you?: Maybe.
Re: Hey this was a while ago but IT SEEMS LIKE A GOOD IDEA NOW
I haven't read The Brothers Karamazov yet, but judging by the other two, you have pretty sweet taste!
10. What's your philosophy on life?: Do what you can do, give what you can give, try to have a little empathy, and don't be afraid to break apart or throw awy things that don't work.
This sounds like it would help me. I'm going to have to remember it.
14. What is your favorite guilty pleasure?: Websites devoted to making fun of stupidity.
Man, I love those too. Have any recommendations? I'm fond of Lamebook, myself.
27. If I only had one day to live, what would we do together? (If you have no idea, just say something crazy, it'll entertain me!): Wouldn't be spending it with you. Would be spending it with my family or Lappy.
I was offended until I realized you were reading the question as "If you only had one day to live". :P
Re: Hey this was a while ago but IT SEEMS LIKE A GOOD IDEA NOW
Let's see... Fandom Wank, OTF Wank, People of Walmart (although it gets really faily so I'm TRYING to avoid it ffff), Blog of Unnecessary Quotation Marks, I read Cake Wrecks for a while but haven't in a long time, Fashion SWAT on Something Awful... Yeah, I have spent way too much of my life on this.

...Oops! Sorry! >_< Well, to be fair, I doubt you'd want a near-stranger hanging around either.
Re: Hey this was a while ago but IT SEEMS LIKE A GOOD IDEA NOW
No worries, it was an easy mistake. And yeah, you're probably right, but if you wanted to stop by anyway, you'd be welcome. :B
