Apr. 27th, 2011 07:48 pmFor whatever reason, I've been really obsessed with "Master of the House" over the past day. Never been very taken with Les Miz, but that song is super catchy and lends itself well to Shalom Sesame parodies. Dang. Will probably get sick of it after it is stuck in my head for a few more days, but until then I will keep watching videos of it on YouTube. :B

Also, I keep forgetting to mention this, but a couple of friends of mine are writing a Homestuck next-gen AU and I figured some of you might like to read that sort of thing. Yeah, next-gen, I know, but they are good writers and I love the characters and y'all know I don't rec things that aren't quality. :B It is called Learning the Hard Way and it is pretty short so far, so you should read it maybe! :D

Saw two awesome movies in the past few days. The first was Summer Wars, which was amazing and touching (I actually cried, which... doesn't happen often). Despite what people say, it really isn't all that similar to Our War Game, apart from the ideas of a rogue AI and impending missiles. It came off as more of a homage than anything. I'm actually planning to get the DVD (and I don't own many DVDs either), if only to see how the dub came out. In conclusion, watch this movie. :B
The second was Atlantis: The Lost Empire, which I've been meaning to watch for forever. It turned out to be another one of those that I should have seen back when it came out, because I found myself being very fond of it. The characters! ♥ I found I could ignore the plot holes, but I did come out thinking that it should have been longer for the sake of character development. If we got to see more of the characters' interactions and growing friendships, I think it would have been a lot more powerful. And Milo should have totally gotten with Audrey. (Also, yeah, huge crush on Milo. He's not the trope picture for Adorkable for nothing. A socially awkward linguist with the voice of Marty McFly, come on, that's not fair.)
Also this meme's been kicking around the flist.
You know how sometimes people on your friendslist post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when were they working THERE? Since when were they dating HIM/HER? Since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you should already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.

Within the space of five days, the threesome 4/6/8 (Cubone/Jaromír Jágr/SPHWFLKaiB - that's Ulquiorra/Grimmjow/Szayel (from Bleach) to you) was created and shot down. Everyone seems to think it doesn't make any sense. Even Usa-chan, its creator, seems to have abandoned it in favor of 4/6, and I am left shipping it all alone. And it's not just my insane fangirlness for SPHWFLKaiB (which, incidentally, stands for "Sexy Pink-Haired Fellow Who Licks Knives and is Bespectacled") talking - I actually think it does work better than any of its permutations on their own. Or maybe it's just hotter. Of course, given my unfamiliarity with most of Bleach, my friends are probably right. Oh well, whatever.
Okay, guess how many amounts of homework I have this weekend. Okay? Ready? None, sucker! *booyah*

Tyma had the idea that I should type up this old Star Wars fic I wrote forever ago for a homework assignment. She said I should post it on FF.net, but since I don't have an account there, maybe when I'm done I'll post it here. Possibly.
The official video for my favorite T.M. Revolution song (out of the ones I know, which is one), "madan ~Der Freischutz~", got taken down from YouTube. *sad face* Well, at least there are still a couple live ones and AMVs I can watch. On the plus side, I realized that the Cotton-Eye Joe dance fits that song really well. A bit too well, maybe.

animutations - Weird Flash animations that often contain mondegreens and Colin Mochrie. Invented by the ever-irrepressible Neil Cicierega.
bob - is the best name ever. Think about it - it's so all-purpose. Bob is also the deity of Bobism, whichakasunano_usagi and I made up.
darth maul - A Sith Lord from Star Wars, whose first and only appearance was in The Phantom Menace. He has red and black tattoos all over. He wields a double-ended lightsaber. He's pretty sick.
genderswap - Something that occasionally occurs in fanfiction. Actually, there are two kinds: when characters suddenly change gender or when it's an AU where they've been the opposite gender for their whole life. In the first, I like to see how they react to suddely being the opposite gender. (I like when weird-type stuff happens to characters. :\) The second type can be great if the author plans it out well. Unfortunately, I have yet to read such a one.
host club - This comes from Ouran High School Host Club, an anime. (I would have put "ouran high school host club" as an interest, but it has five words. D: ) The Host Club is a group of attractive boys the sole purpose of which is to charm girls. I.e., fangirl heaven.
sock puppets - Not the kind you use when you troll, but actual puppets made from socks. This is a long-running inside joke between myself andakasunano_usagi. When I found out that Sasori from Naruto was a puppet, I asked if he was a sock puppet. She claimed that he was a marionette. Now we constantly argue over which is better.

Figured I'd put that out there.
In other news, the Hare Hare Yukai dancers for this year's talent show have been finalized: Raven, Usa-chan, HG, O.A., and myself as Haruhi, Yuki, Mikuru, Kyon, and Itsuki, respectively. So yeah, some crossplay (both kinds), some stuff, it's all cool. If anyone is around around March or whatever you may want to check it out. Of course, that's assuming I can learn the dance by then. :P

Any Star Wars and/or Avenue Q fans may want to watch this video, set to "Everyone's A Little Bit Racist"; it is almost the perfect-est video ever. Warnings: racism (which oughtta go without saying) and one instance of profanity. And, in the video, a very odd couple. XD
And a plea: Does anyone still have their old Pokémon "2BA Master" CD? I've discovered that mine's got a big scratch right down the end of track 3 and the beginning of track 4, so I was wondering if I could copy those off someone else's CD. Thanks. ^_^

For Haley (sp?)? No. Just NO, America. What on earth you were thinking. DDD:

All Naruto fans who read this LJ, THIS FANFIC. Read it. Yes, it's a high school AU, but it's a super well-done one. Here's a taste of what's inside: Naruto's the new kid, Yondaime's his father, Sasuke's an emo, Gaara's a British goth, Kimimaro's a Rastafarian, Zabuza's a gangster, and Orochimaru is the chorus teacher. And that's just the surface. It deals with some pretty sensitive subjects, too. Yeah. Read it.
O.A. and Usagi-chan need to stop giving me plotbunnies.How awesome is all the people with one normal eye and one magical eye teaming up? Pegasus, Kakashi and Moody? That would be a heckuva crossover! Ooh - maybe Ragetti can join too! Seriously, though, stop that.

Pirates and pie...Well, um, Pirates kinda starts with the word pie, so...actually, I've been putting off making a proper post for so long that I've completely forgotten everything I was going to say. Sorry. School's starting soon. Bleah. Oh - Freeglader, if you're reading this, I read Dune. I guess your fanfic did something after all.
My computer's in the shop right now, so if you were trying to email me, you can't. This is being posted from the library computer, but I don't like checking my email on public computers. So.
A website to check out: Guess the Character (shown to me by Tyma). Like a more-than-20-questions game of 20 questions, this game guesses right a lot. And if it doesn't, you can input your character into the game so it will guess it next time!

Jun. 12th, 2006 04:47 pmI did some stuff this weekend but I waited too long so now I don't remember it too well so I can't talk about it. x_x And I friended abc_icons because I wanted to feel like I had more friends. And because it's a cool community. I had friended 10variations, but I had to unfriend it becuase all the posts were clogging my friendslist and the big pictures were murder on my dial-up. Still a good comm though.
Everyone was going off on me today at school because I drew a Gaara/Lee picture. Shad and Raven hated the thought of Gaara with anyone else, O.A. just can't imagine Lee with anybody (except me, apparently), and I'm not sure why Maddog didn't like it, but she didn't. Then there were the homophobes who were just "EWW BOYS KISSING." To quote HG, stupid homophobes. I dunno why everyone hates the ship. It's so dang cute! I think I've found a new OTP. (Yes, I'm aware that that makes three OTPs. Shut up.)
Relatedly, I think I need a Naruto guy. I mean, Shad has Gaara, Raven has Sasuke and Gaara, Maddog has Kakashi, Freeglader has Sasori, Rekka has Orochimaru, and O.A. has that Kimimario guy. (She used to have Kabuto, but Rekka made her give him up so she could kill him. Everyone seems to hate the poor helmet-head for some reason.) But I've never really felt strongly about any of them. O.A. thinks I like Lee, but I'm just not sure. He's adorable and all, but I don't know if he's the type of guy I want to spend the rest of my life with. Maybe I should listen to Rekka and define my parameters, but it really depends on the guy, dunnit.
In happier news, we got a printer. And I was in fact able to watch "Reality Trip", albeit a rerun. Most of it was pretty good, but dude, dei ex machinis are not your friend. Well, off to study some more. Or not.
